30 years ago today (4/9/94) Nas released his landmark debut album Illmatic. This debut had a big part in reigniting NYC hip-hop and birthing the era of lyricism. In the years since it has gone on to be widely accepted as one of the strongest hip hop/rap albums of its time and still tops many a best of all time hip hop album list.
