25 Years Ago Today – Wilco Releases Debut LP ‘A.M.’ (Watch “Casino Queen” Live ’96)

25 years ago today (3/28/95), Wilco released their debut LP A.Mthe first and last Wilco album to feature Brian Henneman (Bottle Rockets) on lead guitar who was brought into the recording sessions. The album was released only months after the breakup of Uncle Tupelo. Uncle Tupelo’s last album, Anodyne, featured a new lineup for the band — a five-piece outfit with drummer Ken Coomer, bassist John Stirratt, and multi-instrumentalist Max Johnston. Only days after the breakup, Tweedy decided to form a new group and was able to retain the lineup of Uncle Tupelo sans Farrar, and then Wilco was born.  Watch Wilco perform “Casino Queen” off A.M. live in 1996…
