Happy 70th birthday today to Tony Banks of Genesis who was born on 3/27/50. The keyboardist and composer helped lay down the melodies for most of Genesis’ songbook and his keyboard work helps curate one of the most compelling and adventurous songbooks in rock history, including the double album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. With a Genesis reunion on tap this fall in the U.K., lets hope they bring out the big guns from the songbook.
