25 Years Ago Today – Phish Released ‘The Siket Disc’ Via Phish Dry Goods

25 years ago today (6/3/99), via Phish Dry Goods only, Phish released The Siket Disc, their eighth studio album. The Siket Disc compiles several instrumental tracks that originated from recording sessions for their previous studio album, The Story of the Ghost (1998). The band’s producer, John Siket, played a crucial role in these sessions, leading to the album’s title, and keyboardist Page McConnell sifted through hours of these jams, selecting and editing them into the cohesive tracks that appear on the album. Only “My Left Toe,” “Quadrophonic Toppling,” and What’s the Use?” have more than one appearance in Phish setlists.
