25 Years Ago Today – Van Halen Releases ‘Van Halen III’ Album With Gary Cherone On Lead Vocals

25 years ago today (3/17/98), Valen Halen released its first album without either David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar as lead singer – Van Halen III. Gary Cherone of Extreme became the third singer and while the album took some warming up to for fans, in later years it holds as one of their most experimental releases.
