10 years ago today (3/16/13), Jason Molina, the singer-songwriter best known as the leader of Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co., died at the age of 39. Molina released the self-titled debut of Songs: Ohia in 1997, and continued the alt-country project until 2003, with the release of his critically acclaimed album, “Magnolia Electric Co.” Molina recorded under many other projects and his prolific nature and connectable lyrics and country-tinged sound earned him a devoted following that surely would have had him playing bigger stages in years to come.
