30 Years Ago Today – Eric Clapton Releases ‘From The Cradle’ Blues Cover Album

30 years ago today (9/12/24), Eric Clapton released From the Cradle album. This album is particularly notable for its collection of traditional blues tracks, drawing from the works of legends like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and B.B. King. Surprisingly, this was Clapton’s first attempt at an all-blues album. He would subsequently record Riding with the King with B. B. King; a tribute to Robert Johnson, Me and Mr. Johnson; and a collaboration with J. J. Cale, The Road to Escondido.
