30 Years Ago Today: Manic Street Preachers Released Glam Hard Rock Debut LP ‘Generation Terrorists’

30 years ago today (2/10/92), Manic Street Preachers released their debut LP Generation Terrorists, and their guitarist/lyricist Richey Edwards is still missing, but you can google that for a whole nother story. The Welsh band came right on the dawn of the grunge era yet were the most American sounding band to come out of their country in quite some time courtesy of sunset strip rock and roll glam flair. Generation Terrorists is a bold debut that never quite exceeded the band’s expectations, yet it remains one of the era’s most attitude fulfilled albums with big guitars, anthemic choruses and melodic undertones beneath the flashy surface.
