Thirty years ago today (9/6/94), Widespread Panic released its fourth studio album, Aint Life Grand. Loaded with radio-friendly songs (“Airplane,” “Heroes”, “Little Kin”), along with songs that were soon to become live favorites (if not before some were already road-tested), Ain’t Life Grand was the band’s most accessible album up to this point and was released just as the jam scene was fully blossoming as The Grateful Dead would soon end and Widespread Panic would further thrive on the road. Watch Panic perform Bloodkin’s “Can’t Get High” off Ain’t Life Grand on Conan in 1995..
