Ten Years Ago Today- U2 Release ‘Songs of Innocence’ Album & Automaticaly Added To iTunes Libaries

Ten years ago today (9/9/14), U2 released Songs of Innocence, their thirteenth studio album. It’s renowned for its surprise release, when it was automatically added to the libraries of all iTunes users, sparking both praise and controversy, but more for the latter as it was added to users’ libraries without consent The album explores personal and political themes, drawing on the band members’ early life experiences, especially in Dublin during the 1970s. Ten years later, the songs on the album seldom get much love from U2 fans. Watch the short film/video for “Song For Someone” off the Songs of Innocence..
