35 Years Ago Today – As Mookie Blaylock, Pearl Jam Performs First Ever Show

Thirty-five years ago today (10/22/90), Pearl Jam played their first-ever show as Mookie Blaylock at the Off Ramp Cafe in Seattle. With the addition of Dave Krusen on drums, alongside Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready, the band took the name Mookie Blaylock in reference to the then-active All-Star basketball player. Soon after, they signed up for Epic Records and renamed themselves Pearl Jam, and aside from a few drummer changes, the band mightily rocked on. Watch footage of the first show from 10/22/90.
