35 years ago today (8/9/88), Danzig released its debut self-titled studio album. Led by the “metal Elvis” Glenn Danzig, following his work with Samhain and prior to that Misfits; Danzig ushered in a bluesy tone that was heavy AF and featured a killer band of John Christ (guitar), Eerie Von (bass) and Chuck Biscuits (drums). The debut featured Danzig’s most well-known song “Mother” and a muscular (of course) cover of Albert King’s “The Hunter.” Listen to the debut in full kicking off with nasty riffs of “Twist of Cain”
