40 years ago today (3/22/82), Iron Maiden released their third album The Number of the Beast which signified their first to feature vocalist supreme Bruce Dickinson and their last with drummer Clive Burr. Beast produced the singles “Run to the Hills” and “The Number of the Beast” along with setlist staples “Hallowed Be Thy Name” and “Children of the Damn.” Top to bottom, many consider The Number of the Beast, Iron Maiden’s finest studio album along with Powerslave and Piece of Mind.
