40 Years Ago today – Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble Release Debut Album ‘Texas Flood’

40 years ago today (6/13/83), Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble released their debut studio LP Texas Flood on Epic Records. Produced by the band and recording engineer Richard Mullen, it was recorded in only three days at Jackson Browne’s personal recording studio in Los Angeles. Vaughan wrote six of the ten tracks on Texas Flood. Two singles were released from the album: “Love Struck Baby” and “Pride and Joy” both of which are still staples on classic rock radio.
