55 Years Ago Today – Beatles Release ‘Revolver’ LP and Rock and Roll Is Forever Changed (Watch ‘Revolver’ Press Conference)

55 years ago today (8/5/66), The Beatles released their seventh studio album and what many consider their finest effort – Revolver. The LP marked a progression from the group’s 1965 release Rubber Soul in terms of style and offered new takes on psychedelic with “Tomorrow Never Knows” and forever marked the transition of the Beatles to more serious songwriters and studio experimenters. It’s safe to say rock and roll was forever changed from Revolver. Watch The Beatles at Capitol Records Tower in 1966 where they are being presented with a gold record for the release of their LP, “Revolver”.
