The first recording featuring David Bowie was released 60 years ago today (6/5/64). At the time, he was still known as David Jones when the track “Liza Jane” by David Jones and the King Bees came out. Bowie was a far stretch from the extravagant Ziggy Stardust and Thin White Duke eras on this early rock number, which shows some catchy early chops from the soon-to-be icon. Check out the 1964 cut.
