75 Years Ago Today – The Late Keith Moon is Born (Watch “Won’t Get Fooled Again” Live ’75)

75 years ago today (8/23/46), the original madman drummer for The Who – Mr. Keith Moon was born. Known for his unique playing style as much as for his self destructive behavior, his drumming has been an inspiration for many and any “best of” drummers list, always includes Moon. Aside from smashing his kit on stage, his fills and cymbal crashes remain a lasting ingredient of The Who’s timeless catalog of songs. Moon died on 9/7/78  from an overdose of Heminevrin and The Who continued on a for a couple more albums with former Faces drummer Kenney Jones on post Moon LPs Face Dances and It’s Hard. Watch The Who perform “Won’t Get Fooled Again” live on 12/6/75.
