Happy 50th birthday today to the prolific singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harper (born 10/28/69). Harper, who released his first album, Welcome To The Cruel World, in 1994 has taken home three Grammys so far in his career and turned out a plethora of fan appreciated albums, earning him one of rock’s most dedicated followings. Harper has also earned acclaim for his peers as he has collaborated and produced The Blind Boys of Alabama, Joseph Arthur, Mavis Staples, and Charlie Musselwhite.
