Happy 57th birthday today to Michael Stipe who w as born on 1/4/60. As the lead singer R.E.M. from their formation in 1980 until their dissolution in 2011, Stipe helped write one of the most respected and well listened songbooks in alternative rock history. Stipe has laid low in recent years and grown a boss beard, but couple years ago took Neil Young’s “Old Man” out for a spin. Check it out below..
