Happy 60th birthday today to Paul Westerberg (born 12/31/59) leader of the always adored The Replacements. The Replacements started out as anti-establishment rockers who spent more time drunk and high than sober. Then the band moved to the glories of power pop with a succession of critically adored albums including Pleased To Meet Me, Tim and Let It Be. Westerberg had a decently successful solo career led by 1993’s 14 Songs. Watch “World Class Fad” off of 14 Songs live from British TV in 1993.
