Happy 60th birthday today to the fearless freak or sometimes bubbled leader of The Flaming Lips- Wayne Coyne (born 1/13/61). The Lips have continued to remain one of rock’s most vital live performers and prolific studio magicians, having released 16 studio albums that range from the absurd to the sublime. With all the upheaval in the world, perhaps we should just have Wayne Coyne for President: he seems to know what’s going on and has the medicine.
