Happy 70th birthday today to Yusuf Islam, better known to many as Cat Stevens, who was born on 7/21/48. The singer, songwriter 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has one of the more revered folk catalogs from the 70’s, where many of the songs have been modernized in recent years by other artists. Stevens’ albums Tea for the Tillerman (1970) and Teaser and the Firecat (1971) were both certified triple platinum in the US by the RIAA.
