Happy 75th birthday today to Little Feat co-founder and pianist/keyboardist Bill Payne (born 3/12/49). Regarded as one of rock’s most accomplished keyboardists with an enormous resume who has worked with Bob Seger, Stevie Nicks, Linda Rondstandt, Jame Taylor, The Doobie Brothers, Robert Palmer, Jimmy Buffet and more; Payne has helped develop Little Feat’s roots music to incorporate shades of eletronic music that otherwise might not have been heard. Payne still carries the Little Feat ship today, as the band gears up for a new album ‘Sam’s Place’ due out May 17th.
