50 Years Ago Today – Queen Release Their Heaviest Album ‘Queen II’

50 years ago today Queen released Queen II, perhaps the band’s heaviest album and one that would set the template for many rock bands to follow.  The album is known for its distinctive “side white” and “side black” concepts, with one side containing more rock-oriented songs and the other featuring introspective and experimental tracks. Standout numbers include Seven Seas of Rhye, “The March of the Black Queen,” and “Ogre Battle.”
