Pullin’ ‘Tubes: Marissa Nadler Gets Dirty

If you’ve been paying any attention at all to the freak-folk movement of the last few years, you’re probably already familiar with the the name Marissa Nadler. For the majority of you out that haven’t heard of the ethereal voiced Boston-based singer-songwriter, her music falls somewhere in the realm of the sweeping psychedelic haze of Mazzy Star meets the gentle folk of Nick Drake or if you want to a more contemporary act think Bon Iver – with beautifully slow songs, full of haunting acid-drenched vocals.

Ms. Nadler will release her fourth full length album Little Hells on March 31 and has lined up a handful of solo shows – which include stops at Brooklyn’s Lutheran Church Of The Messiah and Joe’s Pub – before hitting the road as the opening act for alt.country act The Handsome Family.
