While fans are still waiting patiently for the premiere of Luke Cage this September, Netflix and Marvel gave fans more to be excited about by revealing the first teaser for their next big show, Iron Fist. The teaser, revealed tonight at Comic Con in San Diego, furthers the domination of Netflix and Marvel’s relationship and portends great things to come from the team.
Even without revealing too much about the series or its plot, there’s plenty to pore over from the brief teaser. Hints of tragedy, tidbits of mysticism, and a soupçon of ass kicking are all in play as actor Finn Jones is finally shown taking the mantel of Iron Fist.
This will mark the fourth series Netflix and Marvel has released together, all leading up to the Avengers-style cross over event, The Defenders. As the final character to be introduced to the world, Iron Fist will have a lot to live up to from its forebears in addition to setting up the following miniseries.
Neither Netflix nor Marvel have given us any reason to doubt them or their vision, however, so we can surely expect more great, grown up action that was previously established by both Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
