LISTEN: Kristina Murray Drops Simple Yet Angelic Country Vibes On “The Wrong Hand”

Nashville-based artist, Kristina Murray invites us into a past where country music simply was purer. On her new single, “The Wrong Hand,” Murray’s voice cuts above tasteful yet expressive acoustic guitar lines and is void of overproduced, over-compressed glimmer. A sincere longing is present in the mood, as harmonies from Micahela Anne compliment fluidly rekindling the sincere vocals of The Chicks and Carrie Underwood.

Says Murray, ‘While writing for my last record, I wanted a plaintive mantra type song. Michaela and I were close friends but had not yet written together as songwriters. At that time– in 2017– we were each going through a rough patch in our own personal lives and I think perhaps we were channeling the desire to soothe those anxieties that day. Although this song didn’t ultimately fit my 2018 album ‘Southern Ambrosia’, I think it worked out for the better: the themes and ideas lyrically presented here are perhaps now as applicable as ever, given the last year and half, and maybe the kind of tune we all need to hear right now. Shit’s going to happen, and there’s really not a whole hell of a lot we can do about it except get up and try to live and enjoy the time we have.”
