Bob Dylan, Wilco, White Stripes Lead Austin City Limits Festival Lineup

Bob Dylan, Bjork, Wilco, the White Stripes, the Killers, My Morning Jacket, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age and the Arcade Fire lead the lineup for the sixth Austin City Limits Music Festival, to be held Sept. 14-16 in the Texas capital’s Zilker Park. Also on the bill are Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Joss Stone, Lucinda Williams, Crowded House, Amy Winehouse and the Decemberists.

Beyond surcharge-free ticketing, minor improvements to the food court area and a new irrigation system for the vast Zilker Park lawn, ACL will carry on in much the same fashion as in years past.

"We’ve had hundreds of bands on eight stages and approximately 750,000 people, and not one arrest inside the park in five years," enthuses Charles Attal, who books the event for Charles Attal Presents. "The crowd is full of music lovers, and I think that’s what attracts people from outside the city. This is what Austin is all about."

Tickets were put on sale weeks before the lineup was announced, and Attal says sales are already "double" where they were in 2006. "It will sell out a lot quicker than it did last year," he says.

The ACL lineup is rounded out by Gotan Project ("We’re flying them in from Buenos Aires," says Attal), Yo La Tengo, Spoon, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Damien Rice, Steve Earle, separate sets from Ziggy and Stephen Marley, LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A., the Del McCoury Band, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, the National, Joseph Arthur and the Lonely Astronauts, Robert Earl Keen and Asleep At The Wheel.
