10 years ago today (10/19/10), Elton John and Leon Russell, longtime mutual admirers of their own piano based rock, released their first collaborative LP The Union. The album features appearances by Booker T. Jones (on Hammond B-3), Neil Young (vocals), Robert Randolph (pedal steel), and Brian Wilson (vocal harmonies) and this time really was a true return to form for both artists. Check out “If It Wasn’t for Bad” which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
