25 Years Ago Today – Freddie Mercury Reveals Has AIDS/Dies Following Day (Watch Live in Hyde Park ’76)

25 years ago today (11/23/91), Queen front-man and arguably the greatest lead singer ever Freddie Mercury, issued a statement confirming that he has AIDS and called for help in fighting the disease. Mercury would die the next day at the age of 45. Mercury had tested positive in 1986 but remained prolific throughout the time period he was ill, with Queen releasing 1989’s The Miracle and 1991’s Innuendo.
