25 years ago today (7/16/96), Ween tried on their cowboy hats for their fifth studio LP 12 Golden Country Greats. Featuring a variety of Nashville vets, Gene and Dean stewed up ten songs rich in twang and vibrato that touched upon the golden age of country mixed with typical Ween humor. The album’s “Piss Up A Rope” remains a live favorite.
