35 years ago today (8/22/89), The Mighty Mighty Bosstones released their debut album Devils Night Out. Released on Taang! Records, the debut is often credited with helping to establish the ska-core sound, which blends the energetic rhythms of ska with the aggressive edge of punk rock. Of course, the album has the young Bosstones as their most fierce courtesy of Dicky Barrett’s distinctive gravelly vocals. Check out the video for the title track
