50 Years Ago Today- Syd Barrett Played His First, Last and Only Solo Appearance

50 years ago today (6/6/70), Syd Barrett played his first gig after he left Pink Floyd at the Extravaganza 70, at London’s Olympia Hall, England, backed by a band that included David Gilmour on bass. In typical Barrett fashion, the once brilliant founder of Pink Floyd abruptly took off his guitar during the fourth number and walked off stage. This would be Barrett’s only solo appearance.
