Happy 70th birthday today to Tom Scholz of Boston who was born on 3/10/47. The founder of Boston has his songs on constant rotation on classic radio, but is also one of the most brilliant musicians of our time having graduated from MIT and working at Polaroid as a design engineer. Scholz performed most of the music on the early Boston albums and captured a distinctive “Boston” sound while also starting his own line of guitar effects under the name Rockman. Boston is still touring these days as they head out on the road with Joan Jett this summer.
