Bob Mould, the genius behind seminal post-punk outfit Husker Du as well as the guiding force behind 90’s alternative-rock heavyweight Sugar, will tour the U.S starting March 5th. The tour will feature both classic material from Mould’s considerable body of work, as well as new songs from his forthcoming Anti- debut, District Line, hailed by USA Today as “a return to melodic, hypnotic rock for the Husker Du/Sugar eminence.”
District Line is being heralded as a return to form of sorts for Mould, a musician not afraid to push boundaries musically and perform outside of his expected range. Playing with drummer Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Mould describes the emotional, mature and uber-catchy record as “stories of my simple life in a complicated town,” and promised Billboard magazine “lots of guitars, shorter pop songs.”
