While Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band rocks through Europe, Columbia Records will release a digital EP consisting of four songs recorded live at at various U.S. tour stops. Included is Danny Federici’s last performance with The E Street Band, recorded about a month before the organist succumbed to melanoma.
Scheduled for an iTunes-only release, the EP features Springsteen and special guests that "dropped in" during select dates on the current tour. Called Magic Tour Highlights the EP features the following four tracks:
"Always A Friend" (with Alejandro Escovedo), recorded April 14, 2008, in Houston.
"The Ghost Of Tom Joad" (with Tom Morello), recorded April 7, 2008, in Anaheim.
"Turn Turn Turn" (with Roger McGuinn), recorded April 23, 2008, in Orlando.
"4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)" (with Dan Federici), recorded March 20, 2008, in Indianapolis.
The four-song digital EP will be released exclusively on iTunes next Tuesday, July 15.
