Open Thread: Did You Score Phish Tickets?

We’re down to one final chance for Phish fans to score tickets via official channels. At 10AM EDT Phish’s Hampton Run will go onsale at Ticketmaster.com. What do you do? Do you go for the three night package or take a chance at getting two tickets for one of the three shows? Good luck to all, and let us know how you fare by leaving a comment below…

  2. The “recaptcha” screwed me….it hung for like 2-3 mins and by the time I was able to submit it, 15 minutes wait time…so needless to say, i’m not optimistic.

  3. I got in to the TM site…says 15 min wait time then down to 2 mins and then started going back up… Needless to say got nothing… Tried for 2 then for for 1 on the 3 days package… Bummer…

  9. Ticketmaster sucks…. I was signed in right at 10 said i was in line for 15 minutes and then nothing. This is after waiting two minutes for the stupid security password screen to load. I hate this website and phish should no longer use them. Also I thought you werent suppose to be able to get tickets by phone? WTF this day sucks!

  13. yea made my phish ticket order on the dot 10am and got rejected but on the side they had tickets from tickets now for 3 to 5 hundred a piece. this is 35 seconds after they went on sale.

    so you think that in that 35 seconds that people bought tickets and got with ticket now to resale them? i dont think so

    ticketmaster is total crap and will never buy through them again, even if it means that i dont get to see the music that i want to, and that is bull@&*#

  17. I love how there were no tickets available, but there was a link to “TicketsNow, a ticketmaster company” with prices for the “sold out” tix listed at 10x the cost. Ticketmaster is the biggest scam. Why does the band use them?

  18. Im happy to see others agree with me… I didnt want to be the guy on the board sounding like he is just pissed off he didnt get tickets. I really feel that ticketmaster needs to get rid of that stupid password screen. I dont know about you but tons of times I get words that I cant even read. And then if you type what you think is right and its wrong…then sorry you now lost yoru chance for tickets. Ticketmaster needs to fix this and just leave a normal font instead of all this squiggle words. Does anyone agree?

    Im still going to try to get tickets somehow so I can take photos and put them up on glidemagazine.com. If any of your are interested in seeing hampton shots from the last time go there and look.

  23. I put a curse on Ticketmaster and the ticket brokers! Anyone who pays $400 for a ticket is nuts and is just feeding this insane ticket situation (not just Phish tickets, but all tickets in general). How ironic that they use a malfunctioning “captcha” system to prevent “bots” but it is the human bots on the inside raking all the tickets.

    Screw Phish, I’ll see you at LANGERADO!

  26. I find it strange that Ticketmaster has another company that sells scalped tickets. Don’t you think that is a conflict of interest and possibly illegal.

    Pearl Jam was right! Ticketmaster is a monopoly!!!

    Phish should cancel the whole show and reschedule…

  28. Got denied at TM.com this morning. I am pissed. Ticketmaster sucks. But now Ticketsnow which is owned by Ticketmaster is selling them for $500 a piece. How many tickets did Ticketmaster keep for itself to sell at insanely inflated prices and how many tickets did Ticketmaster actually sell to the public? This is BS that we can’t get tickets for face value. Phish should not put up with this crap. According to Phish it is not ok to scalp tickets above face value, but apparently it is ok for Ticketmaster to sell them through a sister company.

  34. Bob C, I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s ridiculous what this corporation is about. I am upset with Phish management for using this method for such a highly anticipated reunion. Why can’t they hire their own people to handle the process like they did years ago with mail order? I bet the real fans would pay an extra few bucks to pay for the cost of having it done that way, i.e. I’d rather pay a “service fee” to Phish than to Ticketmaster. I agree they should do something about the scaplers. Doing nothing says to everybody that it’s ok for things to be done that way.

  35. its frustrating that i was not able to get tickets. what is more frustrating is that someone on ticketsnow.com has 10 tickets to sell for $500 each. The buyer limit was two, and i don’t see how you could possibly get in to the ticketmaster site 5 times this morning. organized scalping is all that ticketsnow.com is. i am rooting for a simulcast, as well as a healthy spring tour shortly after the hampton shows.

  38. I and all my friends were able to get 2 or 4 each. Funny thing is, we never heard of phish. Someone on eventexperts.net told us to buy them and sell them to fish fans. If you are in need of tix and have alot of cash leave me a message. $400/ticket min. I have tix for each day and several 3 day passes.

  41. @Bob C: Ticketmaster owns TicketsNow but in most cases* not the tickets being sold on TicketsNow. It’s just another secondary marketplace like StubHub or eBay that takes a cut of the action.

    One positive note about TicketsNow is that under certain circumstances if your even is canceled you can actually get a refund for the market price you paid.

    * According to their site, “on occasion tickets may be placed for sale on TicketsNow by Ticketmaster for example when a transaction on Ticketmaster’s TicketExchange is subsequently cancelled and Ticketmaster resells the ticket to mitigate a loss it has incurred.”

    Really curious as to how frequently and in what circumstances this occurs.

  42. yeah ok so i waited and and waited and it did the 15 minute thing so i didnt touch my computer… so then i had two tix…then email and name page… then billing information page… then… click this button and your credit card will be charged… clicked the button… then there was an error in placing my order… but wait ticketnow has them for 500 bucks a piece here buy them from here! ticketmasters owned company you already know what was up with that!

  46. Congrats SF. But damn that ticks me off a little bit. Calling other satellite TM outlets was one of my strategies but they told me they couldn’t sell me tickets and I had to call one of the listed numbers.

  47. I’m not happy with this whole situation, but they’ll announce a bunch of shows soon and maybe I’ll get to go to one. It’s sad that so many people choose make their living off of the misery of others. Look, it’s a free country and Ticketbastard plus the proliferation of scalping sites makes it easy to do. I’m not making a federal case out of it. But people who brag about making others pay 10x face for concert tickets are pretty much the scum of the earth. You say “supply and demand.” I say “you are a degenerate asshole.” I guess we’re both right.

  50. didn’t even try on Sat AM; on a whim tried for 3 day pass this aftenroon and no dice. Tried for 1 Friday and got it… the kick in the nuts is I can’t go… and sorry, I have plenty of friends who are going and need this so I can’t swing it your way.

    Don’t give up hope… got NYE 02′ on re-release too…

  51. I have just spent the last week sending all kinds of angry letters making phone calls and being pissed!!!!!!!!!!!! Ticket master and ticketsnow are a bunch of low life scalpers. Please don’t buy phish tickets for 300 to 5000 we deserve better than this!!!!!!!!! Trey Mike Page John please do something about this. Here is a suggestion. All tickets purchased can only be picked up via will call 24 hours prior to the show. maybe that will help?????

  53. is a 3 day pass literally one ticket designed for a single person or can it be split up amongst phellow phriends? i know the tix won’t be arriving until early 2009, but i am curious as the plans are starting to be put together and take shape. if anyone has any info, i would appreciate it.
