At 3AM on the morning of October 1, Phish.com was updated with a video of an artist painting an image of the Hampton Coliseum that served notice the band was back. To announce their “Summer Tour,” Phish.com featured a video of a number of planes skywriting the words “Phish Summer Tour 2009” in the skies above Southern California. Both clips were embeddable, leading to the videos becoming viral hits and being posted on a number of websites.
Shortly after announcing their return, Phish tapped Coran Capshaw’s Red Light Management to manage their affairs. Red Light was already managing Trey and Mike’s solo careers, so it didn’t take anyone by surprise when the band announced that Red Light would be representing them.
OK, Phish did play ONE time (The wedding of Brad Sands)

A big thanks to HT taper SGordo for his assistance in compiling all of the recordings you’ve heard this week. While I’m at it, I’d like to thank ScottyB, billarockstar, papaphunk, Lacy, halpua, hedgehog & Byrnesy for their contributions, corrections, etc.
I’ll leave you with this cover that Mike & Trey played twice, it’s a tune called Old Habits Like You Are Hard To Break by Hank Williams Jr.

WooHoo! Nice write up.
One track you should add – Mike & Leo playing Twist. I used to have an mp3 from when they played it on World Cafe Live but alas I don’t anymore. It’s pretty dern good though.
