Last week Mayer Hawthorne posted a video which confirmed that the release of new music was imminent. Today, the Ann Arbor, MI born, LA based artist announces that he will be releasing an album this Summer. To give fans a sneak peek at what he’s been working on, Mayer revealed the song “Designer Drug”.
Mayer Hawthorne has produced and played instruments for much of his life, but never intended to become a singer. What he became, however, is a new school, multi-talented artist and producer. The classic Motown sound that provided the blueprint for Mayer Hawthorne’s self-produced independent debut, A Strange Arrangement, was a key influence for his 2011 first major label effort.
