LISTEN: Mickey Newball’s Debut Single “Betting on Bad Weather” Rekindles ’70 Light Rock

Based in Santa Cruz, multi-instrumentalist Mickey Newball writes and records songs in his rickety home studio on the California coast. Each song provides a window into the circus that is his mind; filled with fantastic misfits, surreal self-analysis, impending doom, and lost love.

Checkout Newball’s debut single “Betting on Bad Weather,” (below) a catchy ’70s light rock-influenced track. Newball sings with poise and focused intentionally over a robust backbeat. Laced with organ, Fender Rhodes, and psychedelic harmonies; Newball has a soothing vocal vibrato atop a spacious and serene instrumental arrangement.
