Canada’s Bahamas has announced the brand-new online video performance series, Live To Tape. Each pre-recorded episode of Live To Tape features Bahamas (aka Afie Jurvanen) performing live from Halifax, Nova Scotia with celebrated artists performing with him remotely live from Nashville, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Perth and Toronto. Jurvanen recently released the news via his Instagram.
Live To Tape officially kicked off on January 16th featuring Bahamas with Grammy Award-winning band The 400 Unit (Sadler Vaden, Derry DeBorja, Jimbo Hart and Chad Gamble) from Nashville. The collaboration was also featured in a three-song performance on CBS Saturday Morning in December. Check it out below,,
Bahamas performs with acclaimed artists of today as well as revered musicians who have played on iconic albums by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Carole King, Dusty Springfield and many more.
Upcoming episodes include Bahamas and Wylie Gelber and Griffin Goldsmith of Dawes, Australia’s Teskey Brothers, Gus Seyffert (Beck, Adele) and Joey Waronker (REM, Atoms for Peace) featuring Lucius, as well as Bob Glaub (Jackson Browne, Rod Stewart) and Russ Kunkle (Jackson Browne, Lyle Lovett). Jurvanen recorded a second Nashville session remotely from Canada that featured some of Music City’s most esteemed session musicians whose resumes read like a Who’s Who of music history. Guitarist Russ Pahl, bassist Dave Roe and renowned drummer Gene Chrisman are joined by The Secret Sisters for an extraordinary performance.
