There’s no underestimating Chris Cubeta’s influence as a studio owner. As part owner of Studio G Brooklyn, one of NYC’s largest recording studios, he has collaborated with, produced, and engineered songs and albums for some of the biggest names in the music business, including multi-platinum recording artist A Great Big World, Michael Stipe, Jason Mraz, Jukebox the Ghost, and Emily King.
Yet his ear for recognizing sound and talent expands to that of his own artistry, where his lush and exquisite vocals create a wave of mellow power pop reminiscent of Band of Horses and Cage the Elephant. Cubeta’s forthcoming release of his new album APOE, is due out April 7th, 2023. APOE is described by Cubeta as an album he “absolutely had to make” after experiencing a personal reckoning of sorts, much of which was brought on by his mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis at the shockingly young age of 57.
Glide is premiering the vibrant “Vicious,” off APOE, which catches listeners’ ears with its kaleidoscope of rock presentations that conjure us to find out exactly why the song’s echoing vocals make us want to keep on listening….
