The dream-like textures and plush melodies of Men I Trust are coming to a city near you very soon. The dream-pop trio kicked off their 2023 Fall tour last night (October 18) at the Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The band has been on the road for the majority of the year, starting off with a trip around Europe before coming back to North America for a string of dates around Canada and select festival dates here in the States. It’s now time for Men I Trust to do a proper tour of the U.S., traversing the country until late November.
The trio put together a career-spanning setlist for their stop in Cincinnati. They kicked things off with “Fiero GT” from their acclaimed Oncle Jazz LP, which got a lot of love last night. Ten of the 21 songs performed by Men I Trust came from the 2019 LP and that doesn’t include the medley of tracks performed in the middle of their set. Men I Trust strung together some of their biggest hits including the title track from Oncle Jazz, “Numb”, and “Tree Among Shrubs”. The trio also debuted an untitled, never-heard-before track. They wrapped things up with their monster of a hit “Show Me How” and a two-song encore which included “Seven” and “Billie Toppy”.
With night one in the history books, Men I Trust heads out on their fall tour of the States. The band heads to Detroit next and will hit cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. Check out the full setlist, tour dates, and footage from last night’s show below.
