Blood Lemon Celebrates Release of EP ‘Petite Deaths’ at Portland, OR’s Mississippi Studios (PHOTOS/RECAP)

On Friday, January 17th, Blood Lemon released their new EP, Petite Deaths, and celebrated with a show at Portland, Oregon’s Mississippi Studios to kick off a short swing of shows across the West. For this show, Death Doula was on hand to open the show and The Prids closed it out. Petite Deaths was recorded at the Rancho De La Luna studio in Joshua Tree with producer Dave Catching (Desert Sessions, Queens of the Stone Age, earthlings?). The setting helped inspire the spacious, harmonious, and powerful qualities of the EP’s sound.

In Portland, Blood Lemon — singer/bassist Melanie Radford (Built To Spill), singer/guitarist Lisa Simpson and drummer Lindsey Lloyd — played the majority of the songs from Petite Deaths, including a reworking of the Jessica Pratt tune “Mountain’r Lower.” They also threw in a couple of songs (“Bruise,” “One More Time”) from their self-titled 2021 debut album.

Blood Lemon is taking their brooding yet beautiful sound to Olympia and Seattle with The Prids before headlining shows in LA, Salt Lake City, and back in their city of origin, Boise, Idaho.
