George Green is a 32-year-old artist based in Cyprus. The songs that he makes are made entirely by himself as a songwriter, musician, singer, and producer. With over a decade of recording under his belt, Green has established a raw sound he can call his own, and that uniqueness is evident on his latest release.
“Everywhere I Go” is a gritty, emotional power ballad featuring crunchy guitars that collide with throat-scratching vocals, creating a heartfelt yet aggressive single. There is a delicate balance at play here as Green attempts to make a life-altering decision that is ultimately for the better, yet the artist still seems drawn to this cycle of tough love. Lyrically, Green embodies the anxiety of a breakup and transforms it into a passionate performance through infectious melodies and strenuous vocal runs. Still, there is another conflict hidden within “Everywhere I Go.” Green successfully experimented with the parameters of modern rock by implementing grunge-leaning guitars and crafting melodies so infectious they stick to your rib cage. Yet, these welcoming melodies never deviate from the heartbreak explored in the lyrics. Green’s new single is a stunning blend of prowess and devastation, while highlighting the DIY ethos that enables Green’s lofty visions to become a palpable reality.
“This one in particular was inspired by that girl I met. At some point, I understood I’d only been seeing her at night. Long nights out, not enough sleep to deal with my day job. But the funniest thing was I’ve never met her during the day, only at night time,” explains Green. “So I had to quit to survive my day. Although the nights were beautiful too. The rest of the song is kinda free flow on what all of us have to get through in our lives. And then I get back to wishing I would survive two separate lives and keep that girl.”
