Rounding out our tribute to the Osees this week (who have a new album coming out this Friday), for today’s Weirdo Wednesday, we’re taking a long and disorienting look at their video for “The Daily Heavy” off their (somewhat underrated) album Face Stabber. Indeed, while the band is primarily known for their frenetic and exhilarating live shows, they also typically pepper in a healthy amount of trippiness into the mix as well. And it’s that warped experimental streak that’s helped separate them from the punky pack over the years and has really become an integral part of their sound overall. Which is to say, the Osees can be equally good at blowing your mind as they are at ripping your face off. Pick your poison. Today, we choose the peculiar, mind-blowing end of the spectrum. Behold:
