On August 26th, 2025, Todd Rundgren brought his “Still Me/(Still We)” tour to the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia. This was the first time in Rundgren’s nearly 50-year-long musical career that he performed in Charlottesville. Many in the audience who were early fans, primarily in the 1970s, were pleased to hear a handful of old favorites. The setlist, however, was not defined by greatest hits. Instead, it comprised songs from his entire catalogue to date, including deeper cuts that only his long-time followers might recognize.
Particular standouts included “I Stood Up” from the Liars album, “Hit Me Like a Train” and “Buffalo Grass” from One Long Year, and a beautiful rendition of “Lost Horizon” which appeared on A cappella. Rundgren’s solid vocals and stellar guitar work were front and center. He was accompanied by his long-time tour mates, Kasim Sultan on bass, and Prairie Prince on drums. The band was rounded out by Bruce McDaniel (guitar), Gil Assayes (keyboards), and Bobby Strickland (horns).
