Boston’s Tiberius has announced their new album, Troubadour, for release via Audio Antihero (Frog / Avery Friedman / CIAO MALZ / The Noisy) on November 14th.

Originally a solo project for Brendan Wright (they/them), Tiberius has evolved into a catchy and cacophonous four-piece, producing what Wright calls “Farm Emo.” This expanded lineup of Wright, bassist Kelven “KP” Polite (he/him), drummer Sam Blumenstiel (he/him), and pedal steel player Pat King (they/them) blends Indie Punk, Alt Country, and Psychedelia with confessional, yet conversational and relatable songwriting.

“Painting of a Tree” is the latest single from Tiberius’s anticipated new release, and the slow-burning psychedelia of it all is awe-inspiring. On their new tune, the band showcases the power of their natural chemistry as the nuances of their ever-evolving approach to indie rock paint a simplistic portrait of abstract emotions. The vague yet potent imagery of the songwriting only emphasizes the atmospheric arrangement that balances rustic twang and ethereal psychedelia, immersing the listener in otherworldly textures. Even as your mind floats to a different place, Wright’s vocals prove to be an anchor, as the raw emotions they deliver add a relatable element to this alien-like performance. “Painting of a Tree” finds this newly fleshed-out lineup demonstrating a natural chemistry that turns lofty visions into palpable energy.
