They headlined Fall Fest my senior year of college and remember most of the people had no idea who they were, but there was about 100 people around the stage that knew the band’s music pretty well.
One of the best days of my college life was going to the Preakness Horse Race during the day and then seeing GSW at the Stone Balloon (Newark, DE) that night. That band was just plain fun. Probably saw them 10-15 times throughout the years and never walked away disappointed. They were way ahead of their time.
I’m going down to see GSW don’t expect me home till late!
I loved these guys. Probably saw them 40+ time between 92 and 96. I remember once driving to see them in Western Mass somewhere (maybe East Longmeadow or something) and the show got canceled because someone in the band’s crew got into fight with someone that worked for the venue or something. The next night they played in Hartford, CT and my buddy yelled out “No more fighting, just play music”… and they did, we got a great show that night. I used to have the original Bag t-shirt that had the cartoon guy holding the brown bag on the front… I wore that thing out, and was never able to find another one… I would love to get my hands on one of those shirts again.
Looking forward to see what God Street Wed. has in store going forward!
Such a great bad, Tthey used to play Hobart all the time (before I got there, dammit), one of the them is wearing a Hobart hat in one of the pictures in who’s driving
Saw them many times at the Haunt, State Theather, Rum Runner, Horizontal Boogie Bar etc. I was one of about 20 people at the featured 8/20/92 show at Bogies. Anyone have the 95 Hobart senior week show?

Here’s a random GSW factoid. They played my wife’s high school graduation.

Way to quit right before the term “jamband” got coined, or before summer festies are what they are today
GSW + some goodies from Albert & Elonore = 1990’s heaven!
Love GSW!! I’ve got Bag and $1.99 Romances in rotation in the car right now!
