As proof to the rumors from last week , the 2016 Coachella line up will indeed feature a reunion of both Guns N Roses and LCD Soundsystem. There is no further information of who exactly will be in this edition of Guns N’ Roses, but judging by the classic logo reinstalled on their website, this edition will feature most of or all of their classic Appetite for Destruction lineup featuring Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and possibly Steven Adler, although Use Your Illusion era Matt Sorum seems like a possible choice as well. LCD Soundsystem will be reuniting for their first shows since 2011, when they held their own funeral at Madison Square Garden that became the subject of the film Shut Up and Play the Hits. LCD Soundsystem’s reunion has already brought the release of one new song, “Christmas Will Break Your Heart”. In an accompanying note, Murphy said the band recorded the song in New York City over the course of two weeks. As it stands now, the band plans to record and release more music in the near future.
Aside from Calvin Harris headlining on the third day, Other standouts on lineup include Ice Cube (perhaps honoring a big hall of fame and motion picture year for N.W.A), Sufjan Stevens, M83, Courtney Barnett, Beach House, Grimses, Run the Jewels, M83, Deerhunter, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Chris Stapleton, Death Grips, Kamasi Washington, Hudson Mohawke, Gary Clark Jr, Rancid and more.
